After spending a year researching the various custom home builders and reaching out to numerous owners (who had built with our top choices) for their unbiased feedback, we chose Irwin Homes to build our amazing dream home.
Irwin’s owners, Andrew and Krista Koop, are an honest & highly professional with a team who truly listened to our vision and compiled all of our ideas and made it into a reality.
With multiple sketches in place, Andrew then focused on the detailed major building construction and costs. Their contract is transparent with no hidden unexpected costs. We appreciated that they were flexible in working with our ideas while advising and ensuring that we had a solid construction with the budget that we laid out.
In our first meeting with Andrew, we knew we would hire him and his team. Andrew is down to earth and genuine in his business interactions. Krista was a pleasure to work with and her friendly personality made it easy for us to feel like we were working with a friend who happened to be an amazing interior designer.
Knowing how busy our work schedules were, Krista would coordinate with the various vendors and narrow the product selection to keep with our vision. We were actively involved in our house build but she often worked her magic to bring our vision together.
We came to have great respect for Joel in his organization, closed-loop communication, and ensuring that our build was on schedule. Our home was a more complex project building on new fill land and their first experience building a residential home with limited city amenities. They always did their research and built us a solid home that, as described by the owner of the foundation company, was designed for a small apartment complex.
Their projected date of possession was accurate, a rare feat in the building business.
Many of them are generation trades who chose to work for Irwin Homes through multiple generations and they stand by their loyalty towards Irwin Homes and their home product. The Irwin team is highly knowledgeable, ethical, hard-working, pleasant and accessible, resulting in an outstanding new home.
Even after we moved into our new build when we had questions or minor issues, we have always been able to reach out to our dream team to help us trouble shoot. That is truly the sign of a builder who is accountable to their clients.
We have been in our beloved home for 3 years now and we can say without hesitation that Irwin has built us a dream home that is solid in foundation, has impeccable craftmanship, and an interior design that is in line with our vision. As a contractor, working with trades in new home construction, I’ve seen my fair share of homes built. Having said that, I had serious reservations about dealing with a new home builder to construct my “dream home”. I can honestly say that my experience with Irwin Homes was effortless. From turning my doodles on napkins to a working drawing, right through approving my design choices to meet architectural approval for the sub-division, every person I spoke to or met in person was helpful, patient, and kind. The process was much shorter than I anticipated, and the home was in the ground in a matter of a few months.
I regularly visited the site, and met with many of the trades, all of which were very professional and seemed to do a thorough job.
I’m sure because of my background, I was probably over critical, yet I struggled to find any fault with the house.
I changed numerous design features as we went along, adding to the scope of work and requiring change orders etc. but everyone seemed to just take it in stride and accommodate my wishes.
I feel that the whole process has culminated in my family having an exceptionally well built home that we can feel safe in, and be very proud of. Irwin Homes delivered my dream home to me on budget, and on schedule. These are two rarities that I don’t often see in the residential construction industry.
